I am…or was ( I say was because today I sustained a hernia while working) a instock associate. This means I would take the products off the trucks and sort them, then take the prodcuts to the floor for others to place them. While I respect the mentioning that an more experienced stock might expect up to $14 per hour, I think it would be helpful to mention that I got hired on at $7.62. I am 30 years old with a pretty decent resume and experience, so it isn’t like I am some 18 year without experience. I just felt that it would be fair to allow the expectation of pay to be set. I will also mention that I was informed that all positions being hired, at my location in Cherryville, NC are temp 90 day deals. Which I assume is for legal liability reasons. All in all I just wanted to help allow everyone to know that the starting rate is what I stated, which is oddly enough less then the cashiers get paid. The work is very rigorous for the first half as your unloading trailers with up to 2700 pieces (boxes/cartons/etc) or more.
